About Wall Township, NJ
Wall Township was incorporated in 1851 and named for General Garret D. Wall, commander of the Trenton volunteers during the War of 1812. European contact with the area is first noted in 1734, with the establishment of Greenville Cemetery to bury those lost in the French and Indian War. Later, Allaire Village appeared in the area of the township in 1822, which is now a state park.
Present-day Wall Township has a population of about 26,000 residents. It shares the land occupied by the Brick Township Reservoir, a popular recreational area adjacent to Brick Township with a 1.7-mile walking trail and a well-stocked fishing hole.
